Stefan Schackow a PM on my new team recently published at great book on the applications services offered by ASP.NET 2.0.   While I have only worked with Stefan for a month now it is already obvious that he knows his stuff... do doubt this is reflected in his book!     Professional ASP.NET 2.0 Security, Membership, and Role Management   Enjoy.
Even if you aren't using .NET CF 2.0 (yet?), MVP Jim Wilson's blog entry on configuration file settings in .NET Compact Framework 2.0 is probably worth remembering. (His advice? The Register does a review of the Framework Design Guidelines ...    Other than a crack about the title of the book the review is positive. ;-)   One point that I have not seen before: While the .NET focus is evident, it has to be said that the principles and guidelines are independent of language and, to a very large extent, independent of platform. A public beta of CSLA .NET 2.0 is now available at www.lhotka.net/cslanet/csla20.aspx The Expert C# 2005 Business Objects and Expert VB 2005 Business Objects books are still due out around the end of March. That is also the point at which the framework with "RTM". The public beta should be reasonable stable. In my opinion, I don't think anyone can argue that Pure Components has produced some really great components and controls.  And now we can add another one to the list:- The Entry Set Component Extender Providers . There are three of them in the set.  The Visual Extender (tm) (My Favorite) The Validation Extender (tm) The Item Binding Extender (tm). All of them are packed with feature rich design time and runtime support.
