I just saw JHawk did a great post on using Atlas and Live Local to build a great Map mashup... This post includes a great step-by-step tutorial on how to do it.   Building a Mashup of National Parks using the Atlas Virtual Earth Map control ...   Seems like a good starting place for the Mash-it-up contest ..
