All Visual Basic Feeds in one place!

The ASP.NET team is looking to fill some senior Program Manager positions and you might be just the right person. I would love to have someone who is passionate about the web’s potential, who is an expert in common web technologies such as Php, Rails, JSP, Ajax (and of course .NET), who wants to build amazingly great products for customers, who knows how to drive, lead and inspire teammates, who knows how to listen (and talk) to customers and partners. One of the "inside" aliases that I monitor posed the question: What should a (very) introductory Visual Basic .NET course (for college students) contain? At least one response went into some detail that (IMHO) missed what students getting started as programmers really need to know. Some standard ways to customize Typically in object oriented systems, there are a few ways that generated code can provide hooks for user customization. The traditional way ... [ read more ]
I came across a really cool article yesterday by James Ashley, which shows some of the cool things you can do with the Interop Forms Toolkit 2.0 .   The three VB6 examples cover consuming a WebService (complete with a Dilbert icon showing up in the VB6 toolbox!), implementing multithreading using the BackgroundWorker component, and last but not least a cool WPF cube.   Best of all there’s tons of code samples and  no less than * 15 * screenshots!   ... I just noticed what I believe to be the first 3rd party commercial hoster of Silverlight content.  http://www.discountasp.net/  is adverting support for Silverlight hosting...     These even have a few cool demos up there showing Silverlight 1.0 and 1.1! daspstaff00.web120.discountasp.net/silver/video/default.html daspstaff00.web120.discountasp.net/silver/scrib/default.html daspstaff00.web120.discountasp.net/silver/Chess/default.html   A ...
